Cafodd Dafydd Bullock ei eni yn 1953 yn Llanberis, Gwynedd. Mae’n gyfansoddwr, arweinydd, trefnydd ac athro a raddiodd mewn Cerddoriaeth (Prifysgol Manceinion a’r Royal Northern College of Music, 1971 - 1976) cyn dilyn Gradd Feistr mewn Cysylltiadau Rhyngwladol (Prifysgol Sussex, 1981 - 1983). Yn 1993 a 1994 enillodd wobr gyntaf yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru, ac yn 1995 cafodd ei urddo â’r Wisg Wen gan Orsedd y Beirdd. Fe’i gwnaed yn Gymrawd Cymdeithas Frenhinol y Celfyddydau yn 2005.
